Two Mass Shootings in 24 Hours

There have been 2 mass shootings in 24 hours.

You have got to be kidding me right now. I can’t believe I have to do this again.

Firstly, I would like to send my deepest condolences, thoughts, and prayers to Dayton, Ohio and El Paso, Texas.

I can’t believe that this is the world we are living in, a world in which young kids grow up and aspire to be great. I understand that as a single teenager, I can’t do much, but I can continue to use my outlets to advocate.

These shootings, which happened within 13 hours of each other have brutally murdered 31, and injured more than two dozen innocent people.

Guys, this has got to stop. Everyone sees the US as the best country in the world, yet we have had 292 shootings this year, 251 of which have occurred in the last 216 days. This is unacceptable, plain and simple.

Thoughts, prayers, and condolences are not enough. Something needs to be done, somewhere. As I said previously, a singular teenager like me can’t do much. But, someone higher up needs to do something. I am in no way advocating for the repeal of the second amendment, or saying that Americans don’t have a right to protect themselves. That’s all the second amendment does, is give American’s the right to use guns to protect themselves. I’m smart enough to know that two people who are not in danger, who kill 31 people, are not acting to defend themselves.

I hope someone who reads this has that power, to do something. Because this has become a routine for us American’s. A shooting happens, it gets reported on, the President sends out a tweet, “thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences” are offered, and after a couple days it’s business as usual again. This is unacceptable, for the “best country in the world” to have a mass shooting like this every few days. Thoughts, prayers, and condolences are not enough. Someone do something, please.

Thank you.

  1. I’ve observed that in the world of today, video games would be the latest craze with children of all ages. There are occassions when it may be unattainable to drag your children away from the activities. If you want the best of both worlds, there are various educational video games for kids. Thanks for your post.
